Two winter storms will impact the nation for the rest of this week.
A northernly-track storm will produce a band of snow across the far northern tier of the U.S.over the next few days.
A southerly-track system will produce more widespread impacts later this week into the weekend.
Note the big temperature extremes that are expected starting later this week and continuing into the middle of the month, if not longer. Unusually-cold temperatures will impact the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest and unusually-mild weather over the South Central and Southeast.
Note: The southern-track storm is still days away, so expect possible changes in impact positions, intensity, and timing.
