Dorian To Significantly Impact Florida Livestock Producers

Hurricane Dorian is now a category 2 storm with winds of 110 mph. Dorian is expected to continue to strengthen as it moves over warm Bahamas water and then towards the east coast of Florida.

The current forecast calls for Dorian to make landfall as a category 4 hurricane. 

Hurricane Dorian’s track is expected to impact, to some degree, almost all livestock production within Florida. 

Tropical Storm or hurricane force winds are expected over a majority of the state

And rainfall over 4 inches, and in some cases over 8, will produce flooding and widespread inundation of fields and pastureland.
